Eureka Seven Rocks!
Never before have I been so moved by an anime such as Eureka Seven. Its massive cast full of unique and diversified (and all very quirky) people bring joy to the story, which parallels Evangelion in some respects but takes anime story telling to a whole new height, as Evangelion did a decade ago. Instead of exploring the profound misery of social inepitude, distrust, and miscommunication of the main characters and basically making the entire show entirely too melodramatic (though very provocative) Eureka Seven goes through the hills and valleys, expressing the full range of emotions in its first season alone. It's not just about walls separating individuals, but also how people can overcome it (without resorting to the Third Impact) like real people would. It's as if Eureka is Evangelion grown up. All the little things in Eureka really adds up to the incredible viewing experience, from the superior (and more anatomically correct) drawing to when Renton says "to be continued!" (tsuzuku!) at the end of every episode (and how Eureka says it with him at the end of the first season) makes my soul want to burst open with tears of joy
